It was used as a sound insulator and if you are using an open cover it doesn't do anything that I know of.

It can be seen in the picture below still mounted.

Black gasket around the outside.

I am planning on removing mine (I think) for a cleaner look as I really don't think it serves any purpose with my current setup.

Personal choice from what I can tell.

Hi there do u have pics of how it looks without that gasket? Would dust an water get in there?

Clutch spring bolt M5x0.8 5 5 7
This wasn't posted and the SS springs I bought said 8ft lbs which is a lot more than 5nm so I have some clutch drag and it killed my fluid.
Did the conversion
3.7 ft lbs
44.3 in lbs
Be easier to do inch pounds since measuring 3.5 on any wrench I have would be REAL tough.

I just remember something. I have seen a few racing teams using only 4 of the 6 bolts on the pressure plate. When installed you can tell because the 2 most opposite bolts are missing. What is the idea behind it? Does this modification makes the usage of the clutch lever any easier? I would try this but at the moment I am not available to my bike.

That's the 4 spring Corse slipper clutch. It's made that way. But you can take two opposite springs out of the standard one to decrease the pull. I did until I changed the slave out for a larger one, and then put the springs back in.
